Curren$y is back, yet again, with some more smooth music. His new album The Stoned Immaculate boasts features from Wale, 2 Chainz, and Curren$y’sold buddy Wiz Khalifa.
Curren$y sparked hip-hop’s curiosity with his new offering by considering it his first “real” album.
What’s better than some new music from the jetsetter? A full stream of the new album The Stoned Immaculate now available online!

I’m sure everyone has heard about Maybach Music Group’s new addition, Omarion. You haven’t? Well, Omarion is officially a member of Rick Ross’ camp. Who would of thought?
It seems Omarion has something to say with his new single “Let’s Talk.” Between Maybach O’s signature charm, borrowing some lyrics from Salt ‘N Pepa, and sampling The Notorious B.I.G.’s sweet talk for the ladies, I think MMG’s new signee might have a hit on his hands.
Oh yeah, look out for French Montana’s cameo for a good laugh!

Principal Big Sean?
You heard right! G.O.O.D. Music rapper Big Sean is set to take the throne as principal for a day at Lincoln High School in Detroit, Michigan on Monday, May 14th as part of the “Get Schooled” Detroit Attendance Challenge.
Lincoln High increased their attendance rate by 8.56% this year. With such an improvement, it’s only right that the famous Detroit native makes an appearance! As principal for the day, Big Sean will visit classrooms, help teach classes, and participate in an assembly with Lincoln High’s entire student body.
B.I.G. Sean Don had this to say:
“Showing up to school, all day, every day, is one of the most important things students can do to reach their educational goals and to go on to success later in life. I am so proud of my hometown of Detroit for tackling attendance issues head on and I am so excited to celebrate the achievements of the students who worked so hard throughout the attendance challenge.”
Adam “MCA” Yauch of the Beastie Boys Passes at Age 47
Hip-hop suffered a big loss today with the passing of Beastie Boys member MCA. Born Adam Yauch, MCA grew up an only child in Brooklyn, New York, and taught himself how to play the bass guitar while attending Edward R. Murrow High School. Though the Beastie Boys initially started out as a hardcore punk band, by 1984 they’d made the full transition to hip-hop and shortly after a young Russell Simmons decided to take a chance with the group. Their now-classic rap album, Licensed to Ill, was released on Def Jam in 1986. The album shot the Beastie Boys to super-stardom in the late eighties with dope party anthems like “Brass Monkey”, “Fight For Your Right (To Party)”, and “No Sleep Till Brooklyn”. The impact that MCA and the Beasties had on hip-hop culture is immeasurable. Rest well MCA and thank you for showing us how to fight for our right to party!!!

Two of Pennsylvania’s Finest Get Together for “Party Girl”
In what could be the most random collaboration of 2012, Asher Roth and fellow PA native Meek Mill join forces on the up-tempo, summer party song “Party Girl”. The track, which samples comedian Eddie Murphy’s “Party All The Time,” is the first single to be released off of Asher Roth’s upcoming sophomore LP, Is This Too Orange? Although Roth and Mill have two very different rapping styles, the two do a great job of meshing their styles together on “Party Girl”. Sounds like the new 2012 summer party anthem to us! Check the song out below and let us know what you think. Hey Eddie, if you’re reading this, we want to know what you think, too!

Kanye West managed to stay in headlines by releasing “Mercy” just days after releasing his track “Theraflu.” The difference between the two songs is that the former actually features Yeezy along with guest rappers Big Sean, Pusha T, and 2 Chainz. ”Mercy” is the first single off of the upcoming G.O.O.D. Music album.
Who do you think ripped this track the hardest?
West Side Connection! No, not the group—this time I’m talking about Kendrick Lamar and the legendary Dr. Dre putting in work in the studio. The two recently released the first single off of K. Dot’s upcoming debut, Good Kid in a Mad City, titled “The Recipe.” Give it a listen and take a journey to the West Coast.
What do you think? Between the lyrics, beat, and content, did Kendrick and Dre cook up a smooth hit?

Arnold Schwarzenegger, Sylvester Stallone, and 50 Cent walk into a bar…
Kidding. The three hunky hunks are set to star in the upcoming film The Tomb, a movie about Sly getting locked up for all the wrong reasons. (Starring in Spy Kids 3D wasn’t mentioned.) You gonna catch the flick?

Guess Who’s Back
He’s back, ladies and gentlemen! Remember R. Kelly’s 22-video “hip-hopera,” Trapped in the Closet? The singer debuted the sprawling drama series back in 2007. The twist: R. Kelly narrated the storyline of the entire project! You would think people would get sick of the singing… and the drama.
Well, the Pied Piper of R&B is back on the scene and ready to do some more acting. It has been confirmed that R. Kelly is will continue producing his signature series. He has plans to release new chapters filled with drama, plot twists, and cliffhangers. As of now, there’s no set date for the premiere. I guess we’ll just have to stay tuned to see what the R has up his sleeve.
